Born in the fall of 1990, Dakarai is a modern artist, graphic designer, painter, member of Cleveland based collective Lab Cabin Cleveland and founder/designer of Lame Brotherhood. Though Dakarai has dabbled in art his entire life, it was when he launched his brand Lame Brotherhood at the age of eighteen years old that started his creative whirlwind. He went from selling clothing and accessories out of his mom’s house to selling product worldwide from Lab Cab’s downtown Cleveland art studio.
Dakarai attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh from 2009-2011 where he studied fashion/retail management before leaving the school and moving back to Cleveland to continue building a name for himself. Now, living back in Pittsburgh, Dakarai mainly focuses on art and spends his days honing his skills in paints, digital illustrations and collages using vintage magazines and photography. Having participated in several art exhibitions as well as a few of his own solo exhibitions, Dakarai has plans to continue building a larger collection of works for years to come. Whether it’d be paintings, collages or any random products he decides to put his take on.
Dakarai is currently building towards a larger avenue of his creative side using all that he has gained over the years. Stay tuned for what he has to bring to the table in the coming months.
