Graffiti HeArt recently turned 7 years young as a thriving grassroots nonprofit organization serving the community through its’ mission to promote graffiti and street art through commissioned projects that beautify and revitalize communities and also help fund educational programming including College Program scholarships with the Cleveland Institute of Art. Now, entering its eighth year as a growing volunteer-run organization, Graffiti HeArt is excited to announce that is is expanding it’s crew, appointing Allison Hennie as the new Interim Executive Director of the arts-based organization.
Stamy Paul, President & Founder for Graffiti HeArt presented Hennie as the perfect candidate to help move the organization to the next phase of its journey. “We are very proud of the progress we have made over the past 7 years, made possible by the dedication of our participating artists, volunteers, and donors,” said Paul. “Hiring an Interim Executive Director will help us continue to grow our program offerings in education and public art. Hennie has more than 20 years of experience as an architect and public art coordinator and has a deep passion for our organization and its mission.”
As Interim Executive Director for Graffiti Heart, she will be helping to build capacity within the organization and financially through grant writing. Based on her previous roles and responsibilities, she brings extensive project management experience with past project budgets ranging anywhere from $5,000 – $14 million, always involving multiple stakeholders and remaining transparent about the process.
Since 2013, Graffiti HeArt has sponsored 41 scholarships, over $80,000.00 in grassroots funding, for young aspiring artists, while also coloring our communities through more than 40 public mural projects!
At Graffiti HeArt, we promote artists through positive ways to revitalize and beautify spaces in your community. Graffiti HeArt has opened its new home and graffiti gallery and museum at 4829 Superior Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio in October, 2019! The new space hosts events, gallery shows, and workshops that further advance the culture and medium of aerosol, graffiti, and street artists!
